Can anyone please advise what age children need to be to play Call of Duty. I know that it has a rating of 18 but I have an 11 year old who has friends who are playing it and I know that he must also play it at their houses and is asking if he can have his own copy as it is ‘lame’ that he doesn’t.
I am not a gamer, nor is my husband and I am wondering if the age rating on games is a bit similar to that of films which I know I dodged and managed to see when I was younger without coming to any harm.
Thoughts from anyone who has children who play it would be very welcome!
My son is a big gamer and has been since he was quite young but at 11 he was playing Minecraft and Fortnite.
My son is 12 and started asking about Call of Duty last year because all his mates were playing too.
We let him play it but only with certain settings turned off (like voice chat) and we watch the campaign together sometimes. It’s intense, but he handles it well and we talk about what’s going on. Honestly, games are a bit like movies—depends on the kid. He once asked me about mw3 cheats after seeing someone mention it online, so we had a good chat about playing fair vs just having fun.
