Spring 2020 Update:

Currently our MYC families are enjoying their classes with On-line Solo Time and personalized videos with Mrs Schulz.

This is a historic time for our world community, but it has also been an incredibly heart-warming and hopeful time, where music has played an important role in the mental and physical health for people in every circumstance.

With the amazing collaboration of MYC Teachers around the world, we continue to find ways to ensure our student families enjoy their quality music education during this uncertain time and into the future!

We are accepting new students at this time, for classes beginning in September.

Hi! I'm Arlene Schulz, a certified music teacher in Lorette, Manitoba.

As a piano teacher in Lorette, I have enjoyed the wonderful privilege of helping hundreds of children form the happy habit of making music.

My primary goal as a music teacher is to give students a life-long love and appreciation of music.  Within that ideal, I try to make learning music fun, rewarding and achievable for every student.  Luckily, the Music for Young Children program is the perfect way to accomplish those goals!  I am looking forward to my 23rd year of teaching MYC

I love music and I love children.

In MYC, your child's experience will be:

Fun:  We have fun in our classes using games, movement and puppets.

Motivating:  Children are motivated by the dynamics of the group activities and parents support.

Comprehensive:  Our main focus is keyboard but its much more than just piano lessons.  Each lesson incorporates training in sight reading, singing, movement, rhythm instruments, composing and much more.  Our students are ready to take their Conservatory Grade 1 piano upon completion of their MYC experience.

I also teach private voice, theory and piano lessons. Music has always been my biggest passion, and therefore along with teaching I direct a community women's choir and a community children's choir,  and keep active as an accompanist.  I continue music education to develop my skills and to remain current. In my spare time I love reading, cooking, gardening and watching my daughter play sports.
