Hi! I'm Jan Brown and thank you for visiting my website. I offer group music lessons in Cambridge. These piano lessons are a fun and energetic way to introduce your child to the world of music We meet for classes for one hour each week that include creative movement, rhythm, singing, ear training, sight reading, music theory as well as keyboard work. Composition is also an integral part of the learning experience.
That is what attracted me to MYC when I looked for a program to teach as I started to develop my studio 8 years ago. This is the program that let's me take my love and knowledge of music and share it with children and parents of all ages. Watching the self confidence and satisfaction of children as they have developed over their years with MYC I have become even more committed to helping families participate in this excellent program.
I always work closely with my students to develop a strong musical foundation while having fun. My program has been designed to have a balance of focused study, both practical and theory, mixed with movement and sound. One of the greatest compliments I frequently receive from children and parents alike is that they can't believe the one-hour lesson is over so quickly - they have had so much fun and laughter learning many new concepts in a relaxed atmosphere.
