Learning music through any instrument develops and enhances children's physical, academic, and mental skills in their developmental years.
I have over 30-year experience teaching privately and in classroom settings. 10 of those years have been dedicated to teaching Music for Young Children. I have also spent many years as a choral director. I graduated from Providence University College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. I have studied piano, voice, and theory, and have taken examinations with the Royal Conservatory of Music. I love teaching music, but most of all I love teaching Music for Young Children. It is fun, it is a well-rounded program that has something for every type of learner, and the music is great!

MYC POLICIES 2024 - 2025

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
♫ Parent participation is mandatory for all MYC classes. Communication between you and me is essential. If you need to talk to me about your child, please contact me so that class time can be reserved for teaching.
♫ A piano or touch-sensitive keyboard is required in your home for your child to practice.
TUITION
♫ The cost for each lesson is $21.00. The total amount for the year is $756.00
♫ Monthly post-dated cheques for $84.00 are due at the time of registration or by September.
♫ Cheques must be dated the 1st of each month (September 1st to May 1st), payable to Claudine Rose-Kuffner.
♫ EFT: Payment may be made in lump sum amounts in Sep, Dec, and Mar. Please use as your answer (no quotes/spaces): “MYCSC2425”.
♫ Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) cheques will be charged a $12 handling fee.
♫ When you sign up for an MYC class it is expected that you are registering for the entire year:
September – May inclusive.
CALENDAR
♫ There are 36 lessons in the year, including 3 special events. The program runs from September – May.
♫ Lessons will commence the week of September 9, 2024.
♫ A three-week Christmas break will be starting Monday, December 16, 2024 Classes will resume the week of Saturday, January 4 , 2025.
♫ The last lesson will be determined based on class progress.
♫ There will be discussed as the holiday come. There will be also a break in March / April for Spring Break.
PRACTICE
♫ I am pleased to provide practice incentives to motivate, encourage, and celebrate learning and performance!
♫ Students will be best prepared and experience maximum success when practice occurs at least 5 times per week between 15-20 minutes per practice day. The higher the level may require adding more time.
♫ A homework sheet will be emailed every week – if you haven’t received it within a day of your class, please let me know.
♫ Parents agree to ensure this practice routine is established and maintained. It is also expected that your child will have your assistance.
♫ Parent participation is a key component to your child’s success in MYC. We are partners, and I appreciate you!

Wednesday
Sunbeam 2 - 5 pm to 6 pm
Saturday
Moonbeam 1 at 9 to 10 am (Full)
Moonbeams 3 at 10:10 to 11:10 am
Sunbeam 2 ( ages 5 to 6) at 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. This class needs a Sunshine 2/ Sunbeams 1 requirement and be the age of 5 or 6 in September 2024.
Sunbeam 2 - (ages 7 to 8) 1:45 to 2:45
STUDIO EXPECTATIONS
♫ Please be on time for class. We start on time whether you are present or not. When you are late your child misses out and it is disruptive to the entire class. Just 5 minutes early will allow ample time to get settled. Thank you for your help!
♫ During class time please refrain from visiting with other students and parents. Be sure to pay attention in class and take notes of new concepts presented to ensure that maximum learning takes place for you and your child. Have fun – enthusiasm is contagious!
♫ Parents – please mute or turn off mobile devices during class.
♫ Try to eat your snack in the car on the way to class. No food or drinks in the waiting area or class.
♫ No gum in class.
♫ The studio is located on the lower level of the house.
♫ Parking: Please park either on the driveway or the right side of the street.
♫ Students should wash their hands before coming into the studio.
♫ Please keep shoes/boots on the mats provided. A coat hook is in the studio on the lower level.
MISSED LESSONS
♫ If you are not able to attend a class please contact me and I will reply promptly. Be sure to include the day and time of the class you will miss.
♫ As with dance lessons, skating, hockey etc., there will be no refunds for unattended classes.
WITHDRAWAL
♫ The first two (2) months of your lessons are non-refundable.
♫ If you decide to withdraw from MYC in November or December four (4) weeks of lessons tuition will be withheld. This encourages parents and students to persevere through “slumps” rather than quit immediately! Your space is reserved for you and new students can not take your space mid-year.
♫ Withdrawals in January or thereafter are not permitted and no tuition will be refunded.
♫ If I move, I will ensure you are transferred to another MYC teacher.
