My life has always been shaped by and filled with music, due in no small part to Music for Young Children. My first formal music lessons began over 20 years ago in my teacher Frances Balodis' living room as an MYC student. Now I am overjoyed to be part of the team of MYC piano teachers at HeadOffice in Kanata. Because I learned the joy and power of music through MYC, it is a special priviledge to share that now with young kids as an MYC teacher.
After growing up with a strong foundation in MYC, I recieved my Grade 8 Covservatory Certificates in both piano and voice. Being highly involved in my highschools vocal program led me to pursue my desire to share music with others. I studied in Potsdam, New York at the Crane School of Music and recieved my B.Mus in Vocal Performance. There I had the opportunity to perform in opera productions, learn and practice choral conducting, and expand my knowledge and experience of music in an environment that encouraged teaching excellence. I now enjoy bringing all of these experiences together as I teach music lessons in the MYC program.
I continue to expand my musical experience and practice as an alto soloist with the Ottawa Bach Choir. Check the Notice Board to find out when you can hear us next.
