Judy Causgrove
Alberta

After teaching private piano lessons for many years, Judy jumped at the chance to teach MYC in Red Deer, Alberta in 1989.  The opportunity to stay at home and build a thriving music studio was a perfect fit -- at one point Judy's studio provided lessons for approximately 90 MYC students.  Judy was hired as Coordinator for Alberta and NWT in 1991; the same year she and her family moved to Calgary.  MYC Alberta and NWT has more than 120 teachers providing music education to students right across Alberta and into the NWT.  j.causgrove@myc.com 866-244-9008

 


 

 

Wendy Guimont
British Columbia and Western United States

Wendy Guimont, BMus, ARCT, AVCM, RMT, MYCC is thrilled to be part of the support team for the highest quality music program available for children.  As a coordinator since 1989, she still enjoys the variety of working with very young children and new music families, as well as working with older private piano students and especially with other experienced teachers helping them to integrate the MYC program into their own studios.  Wendy created the Technique Toolbox for MYC and has been involved in several curriculum revisions.  She performs as an accompanist occasionally and maintains a busy studio in Cranbrook, BC. w.guimont@myc.com 800-828-4334


 

Marilyn Unrau
Manitoba and NW Ontario

Marilyn is proud she has been part of Music for Young Children since 1986 when her children first entered the program.   In 1992 when her youngest graduated from MYC, she attended the MYC teacher training seminar and thus began her Music for Young Children career!  Since that time, it has been her pleasure to work as an MYC Teacher, Assistant Coordinator and Certified Teacher Trainer.  In September 2007 she became the Coordinator for Manitoba and NW Ontario.  Music for Young Children has given Marilyn many memorable experiences with her own children, students, parents and colleagues.  It is a rewarding musical journey!  m.unrau@myc.com 204-488-8488

 


 

Doris Sabean
New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island

In 1989 Doris Sabean was looking for something that would allow her to leave her Remedial Education job in the school system, to stay at home with her children.  MYC was the perfect solution!  Along with Coordinator duties, Doris maintains a studio of approximately 40 students, is a piano accompanist for several local schools, festivals and conservatory exams and is a supply organist and choir director for churches in her area.  She is currently President of the Moncton Music Teachers Association and Secretary of the NB Registered Music Teachers Assocation.  d.sabean@myc.com 888-371-5577


 

Heather Meaney
Newfoundland and Labrador

Heather has been an MYC teacher since 1984 and Coordinator of Newfoundland and Labrador since 1994.  During this time she has taught nearly 1,800 students.  Heather maintains a studio of approximately 60 MYC students and does private teaching as well.  She enjoys singing in the St. John's Community Choir.  In 1984 Heather chose MYC for her three sons as an exciting alternative to private lessons for beginner levels.  Heather has greatly enjoyed her career with MYC and looks forward to teaching the program in the years ahead.  h.meaney@myc.com 709-753-0218

 

 

 Megan Henley
Nova Scotia 

Megan Henley has been the Coordinator for MYC in Nova Scotia since 2006.  She began teaching MYC in her own studio in 2002 after discovering a love for it while helping out another teacher the year before.  She graduated from Acadia University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance.  Megan teaches Music for Young Children classes as well as private students and plays piano at her church.  She is also a council member for both the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers Association and the Halifax Chapter of the NSRMTA.  m.henley@myc.com 902-434-3929

 


Frank Berg

Central Ontario

Frank, B.A. Music, began teaching Piano and Voice privately in Huntsville, Ontario in 1999 and taught some MYC graduates.  It was obvious that MYC was a solid foundation for continued music education.  When the Muskoka MYC teacher retired he jumped at the opportunity to take over.  Frank teaches at least 10 MYC classes a week.  Frank has been the Central Ontario Coordinator since March 2009, training and supporting MYC teachers in his district.  Frank believes MYC is the best way for children to learn music as a language. He and his wife's three daughters love going to music class.  f.berg@myc.com 866-999-1091

 


 

Wendy Knapp
Eastern Ontario

In 1991, Wendy discovered MYC as a parent in Frances Balodis' Sunshine 1 class.  Since 1992, she has taught many MYC classes, and is now the Eastern Ontario Coordinator. Wendy taught Junior Kindergarten up to grade 8 vocal, general and instrumental music for 9 years. For many years, Wendy was a church Sunday School Superintendent and involved with Quinte Christian Family Music Camp's children's program scheduling, staffing and directing musicals.  Wendy feels that children deserve the best possible start with any skill they learn, to help them reach their full potential.  She knows that MYC is the best possible start! All children should experience 'the happy habit of making music'! w.knapp@myc.com 613-832-4612


 

Sandra Poolton
Southern Ontario

Since 1986 Sandra has had the privilege of introducing more than 1,000 MYC students and their families to the "happy habit of learning music".  In addition to teaching from her own studio, in 2008, Sandra celebrated 20 years as Southern Ontario Coordinator. In the same year she was presented with the "Cornerstone" award from Music for Young Children. Teacher recruitment, training and ongoing teacher support provide a wonderful balance between teaching young children and "growing together" with MYC colleagues!  s.poolton@myc.com 866-884-3080

 


 

Lise Gauthier
Quebec

Lise Gauthier wanted to teach music when she finished her Teacher's Certificate from Ottawa University. She also obtained her ARCT. After many years she discovered Music for Young Children and trained to become a teacher on the south shore of Montreal. She also translated most of the students' manuals to enable French-speaking children access to this wonderful program. Lise has been the Quebec Coordinator since 1994 and she continues teaching in Montreal in her studio along with another teacher and translates the students' manuals when it is needed. l.gauthier@myc.com 877-324-6527


   

Anita Kuntz
Saskatchewan

After the birth of her 4th child, Anita Kuntz, MYCC, continued her music education by studying both voice and piano.  Working with young children has always been a passion of Anita's, she joined the Music for Young Children team in 1989. Ten years later she was named Coordinator for Saskatchewan. Anita continues to teach MYC full time and serves as a volunteer on several other organizations within her community. While enjoying seeing her own children and students learn, her greatest joy is to see them share the gift of music with others.  a.kuntz@myc.com 877-727-5692

 


 

Roxanne McGahey
Eastern United States

Roxanne McGahey, AMus, BMus, RMT, is a coordinator for the Eastern Seaboard and South Central States.  With 20 years experience teaching Music for Young Children, Roxanne has seen how MYC has touched many lives.  In addition to maintaining a successful studio consisting of Music for Young Children students and private piano students, Roxanne is also an examiner for Conservatory Canada.  Her 10 years of coordinating experience combined with her teaching background gives her insights to help new and experienced teachers build their studios so all MYC teachers can be as successful as they want to be.  roxanne@myc.com 888-759-0004


Vicki Lewis

Great Lakes Region United States

Vicki Lewis, MA, BA, MYCC, coordinates the activities of teachers throughout the central US, in the Great Lakes Region. As such, she trains teachers online and in person and conducts area meetings via the web. She came to Music for Young Children after years of private teaching and is happy to have found 'the best' group method available today. She teaches 8-10 MYC classes each year. Vicki currently serves on the board of Rocky River Chamber Music Society and is a past President of the Cleveland Piano Teachers Organization. She is a member of the Ohio Music Teachers and the National Music Teachers Association.  v.lewis@myc.com 440-333-3829


 

Frances Louard
New Zealand

Frances Louard is the mother of four daughters and a grandmother of two.  She has been teaching Music for Young Children since 1992.  She believes that by teaching children and families, music can be fun as well as educational.  Frances believes she is contributing in a small way to making the world a happier place. mycnz@slingshot.co.nz

 


Hyewon Yoon
South Korea

Hyewon Yoon received her Bachelor of Arts piano major in Ewha Women's University in Korea.  She also took courses in the Music Department at Syracuse University Graduate School in New York State.  Hyewon joined the MYC program while she was in Minnesota in 2001.  She was excited about teaching children in group lessons with their parents in a more fun manner.  She started teaching the MYC program in Korea in 2002.  Hyewon created MYC Korea Ltd. and became the National Director of Music for Young Children for Korea.  She really enjoys teaching MYC to children and to train the teachers while she manages MYC Korea Ltd. yhw@myckorea.co.kr 82-10-6293-0092

Sannly Cheng

Sannly Cheng is the Marketing Director of MYC Singapore. She was formerly with Development Bank of Singapore, one of the largest financial services groups in Asia.  She holds a Master's Degree in Investment Management from City University, U.K.       

Lynn Koh

Lynn Koh is the Curriculum Director of MYC Singapore. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication from Oklahoma State University US, Diploma in Child Psychology and Learning Difficulties from Linguistic Council, Singapore.  She was Operational Director of a private music school for many years and also AV Producer and Trainer of Industrial Training.  She is currently a kindergarten Director and teacher in addition to her role in MYC.

Joanne Barker
Music Pups and Transition

 

Joanne Barker, MYCC, RMT, is pleased to be the MYC Transition Coordinator & Music Pups Consultant as well as MYC Television and Radio Media Relations. Joanne has operated a busy studio in Belmont Ontario for more than 30 years. After joining MYC in 2002, she grew her studio from 30 private students to an average of 100 per year. She has been an accomplished accompanist for various choirs and soloists for more than 30 years. Joanne also served as a church music director for more than 15 years and a sought after musician for area events including weddings and funerals. Joanne was delighted to create the new midi accompaniments for the Moonbeams 1 book that was revised in 2008. Nancy Rogerson
Sunrise Coordinator

When Frances Balodis  showed Nancy the first MYC books and puppets in 1980, Nancy realized this was something very special and lots of fun and she became the first MYC teacher on Prince Edward Island. She is presently Coordinator of the MYC Sunrise programs where she has the opportunity to support Sunrise teachers, as well as work on the development and revision of Sunrise teacher and student materials. Nancy feels that every child is special and finds a wonderful satisfaction in sharing in the musical life of young children and their parents.  n.rogerson@myc.com 902-436-2674
